| OUR STORY. Since 1983 we have been involved with several productions all with the intent of creating a motion picture production center. North American Free Trade Consultants Inc. formed in July, 1994 and operating under the registered trademark NAFTC Studios. In 1983, JSP Productions, produced “Starting Your Own Business", received wide distribution in Canada. JSP opened a 3,000 sq. ft. Studio promoting the region and working on several local commercial productions. Investing in a ¾ inch production facility during the ultimate transition to digital production. For 17 years working with Cineplex Odeon Corporation as a Theater Manager and 10 years later as an independent Theater Owner operating 14 screens. We are proud of our initial involvement with creating the Windsor International Film Festival, (WIFF), which has grown into one of Canada’s premiere events. NAFTC Studios acquired 44 acres in Lakeshore, Ontario to set-up a Production facility twenty minutes from the United States and 4 hours from Toronto. Building a 2,000 sq. foot Posthouse we produced “The Prosecution of an American President” and facilitated the zoning and use for Motion Picture Production. We then built a virtual production facility and 25,000 sq. ft. Stage. Presently we have The virtual production facility and a three acre site in Amherstburg Ontario where we offer film locations. Presently in Canada we continue to work and strife to achieve our objectives of creating full time jobs in the Motion Picture Industry. Our History and our Future. July 16, 1812 River Canard, Ontario, Canada;  cbc.ca/news/canada/the-war-of-1812-Canada-s-bridge-to-nationhood-1.1174979Two young British Soldiers engaged over 200 American Soldiers defending the bridge at River Canard leading to a decisive victory and the eventual takeover of Fort Detroit. The American expansion to the North was Stopped. It was not without the help of the indigenous community, battling the American surge, notably Chief Tecumseh, from the Shawnee Nation leading the Anishinabe Nation and other Nations governing from the Banks of the Detroit River to Moraviantown, now known as Chatham, Ontario. British Major General Henry Proctor took over Fort Detroit leaving Chief Tecumseh to manage the land through a Confederacy of Indigenous Nations to Chatham.Their protection was British Control of Lake Erie under the command of Commandant Oliver Heriot Barclay. The American Naval Master Commandant Oliver Hazard Perry's ships were pinned to Presque Isle.Control was maintained and the British in charge of everything west of Lake Erie was through the supplies provided by Commander Barclay. In July 1813, Commander Barclay, needed to replenish supplies left the southern plank and Master Commander Perry was able to move his ships out of Presque Isle and headed to Amherstburg. In the meantime Another American General William Henry Harrison was tasked with regaining Fort Detroit began the task of moving north, making treaties with the indigenous population. General Proctor, relying on the supplies from Commander Barclay's fleet sat in Detroit. Chief Tecumseh managed and defended the land from present day Windsor, Ontario to Chatham. In September of 1813, The Battle of Lake Erie, the Americans were able to beat the depleted British navy and gain control of the Lake. Word was sent to General Harrison and with Indigenous forces and a large Army moved forward. Major General Proctor began retreating from Fort Detroit and without word too Chief Tecumseh headed east of Chatham, vacating Fort Detrot and Fort Malden. Once seeing the retreat of Major General Proctor, Chief Tecumseh said; “Listen, The Americans have not defeated us by Land. Neither are we sure that they have done so by water. We therefore wish to remain here and fight our enemy, should they make their appearance. If they defeat us, we will then retreat with our father. ”On October 5, 1813, they met General Harrison in Morviantown where Chief Tecumseh died and was defeated. General Harrison, then, made what can be said in my opinion one of the greatest decisions. Understanding the resources needed to defend the land north of Lake Erie to the Lands south of the Detroit River leading into Lake St. Claire, (The Great Lake System) he retreated to Fort Detroit and left the Confederacy in place. The Great Lakes became our border, till today, the most peaceful open border in the World. Hailed, General Harrison was elected the 9th President of the United States of America and sadly the shortest lived president, being in office for under 31 days. To understanding his moral character we let the story end by his words to his Vice-President John Tyler, his last to the same, on April 3, 1841; “Sir, I wish you to understand the true principles of the government. I wish them carried out. I ask nothing more”. President Harrison died April 4, 1841. Pray, The building of a nation. To honor these brave Men and Women we wish to build an Affordable Housing Community, where this all began, so that a soldiers pension can allow these hero’s to enjoy the beauty they gave their lives for and the courage to build a peace and friendship that has lasted for centuries. |
